Nagarkot is a hiker’s paradise. Enjoy scenic hikes through emerald green forests and paddy fields, as the splendid panoramic view of the Himalayas follows your every step. There is no shortage of stunning trails, each as enchanting and serene as the other. From short nature trails around the periphery of Nagarkot lasting a couple of hours to a longer one through the thick jungle that takes you to Chisapani, there is something for everyone. Experienced hikers may only need simple pointers. In case you require a guide, team Tayo is always at your service. Besides the stunning visuals, the jungle of Nagarkot also offers birdwatchers and botany enthusiasts plenty of opportunities to indulge in their interests.

In the company of a Tea Trails Naturalist or Trail Guide, walk or cycle (or both!) through our trails and explore the scenery of Sri Lanka’s tea country. A broad spectrum of biodiversity exists in the hill country – especially ours – as the plantations are interspersed with forest patches that are home to a variety of biodiversity from endemic amphibians to birds and leopards. Our Naturalist will offer an in-depth narrative of the surrounding flora and fauna, share insights on life on a working tea plantation, and exciting factoids on history and heritage that combined make for an informative experience. Our Guides are also privy to some fun off-beaten-path trails for more adventurous explorers. A great way to spend a whole day outdoors is to hike, walk, and bike between all five bungalows, stopping for refreshments, lunch, and tea at each.
